TIVO - Getting a software update...?

Malcom Fenoff: I have never seen a TiVo update image that would work in the way you describe. All the TiVo images that I have seen out there are images of the entire TiVo hard drive. What I would suggest doing is buying a new hard drive, hooking it up to your computer and using something line instantcake to make a new TiVo hard drive and then swap it with the drive that is currently in your TiVo unit. The downside with this is that you would loose all of your programs.http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/instantcake...There is a chance that your TiVo might not support the newer versions.If you are braver/more technical there are other utilities out there but I usually recommend instantcake because it is simple.
