I have major static in my land phone line?

Miguel Densley: i assume the ADSL is working fine? if so then the signal to the splitter is ok or the interference would likely cause an issue with the DSL. Repalce the splitter Are there filters that maybe you did not move try a differenc cord try the phone at a friends house just to make sure that it is not the phone. How is the corded phone? the splitter may also be a dsl filter and that needs to be connected in order for the phone to work properly also try and hook everythign up the way it was and see if you have the same issue. you will need to do a series of trial and error to narrow the issue down to something specific....Show more

Teodoro Lamond: First make sure it is the line and not just a bad handset cord if(1) You are using a non-cordless phone (cordless see below).AND(2) Your phone has a handset cord which has connectors on both ends that allow you to remove the cord.Replace the phone handset cord. If the static is gone that was your problem.Otherwise ! unless it is the cord between the phone and the wall and that is using removable connectors replacing it fixes the problem...It is time to call the phone company for service.Bad static on a cordless phone can mean a bad phone. Clifford Gombos: if you have had the BT line for years it most probably requires upgrading and when I had mine renewed at the beginning of the year I did not have to pay anything Go on give it a try.

Jackelyn Archut: take a regular phone not a cordless phone outside locate the phone box on the out side of the house open it up there should be place to plug your phone in do it if you still get a lotof noise on the phone call the phone co. it's their problem.if its clear ,it's your problem.by the way when you hooked upto the internet did you install the filters that came with the modem that may solve the problem....Show more
