Is it illegal to decorate a school locker?

Oscar Waddups: As long as it can be restored to its original state at the end of the year, you can pretty much do what you want.I wouldn't hang any pictures that depict drugs/sex, as the content may be in violation of school policy. Anything else should be fair game as long as it does not damage the locker.

Norris Rosener: It's only illegal if the school tells you not to do it. It's the school's property, so you'll need their permission to alter it.Any non-damaging decor would be legal, but it might get you in trouble with the school if it's against their policy.Short answer? Check with your school....Show more

Neville Dautremont: I dont think you should since its school property, but if you do sitckers will be just fine.

Riley Migl: Usually you can do things like a magnet mirror, or pencil holder, magnet picture frames. Permanent things are usually frowned at as it is school property and the school does not want to spend all summer scraping your cra! p off it!

Alphonso Brake: No, it's not illegal. A lot of people do it. You can't color it, spray paint or anything. but you can do just about anything else. I have decorated my locker.I decorated it with a mirror, whiteboard/corkboard, and a little pencil holder--all magnetic. My friends decorated it with taped on pictures, and words like 'love' or 'peace' magnetic words). You could also go to somewhere like Office Depot, they have a bunch of locker stuff, and get maybe magnetic locker wallpaper. so basically anything magnetic is ok for lockers....Show more

Sheldon Lally: Its is not illegal to decorate your school locker. However,1. You can not mark it with anything that will not easily come off or will remain permanant.2. the school is not responsible if you decorate the outside of your locker and come back later to find it was tampered with or the decorations stolen, and some schools do not let you decorate the outside of your locker period.3, The decoratio! ns can not display anything vulgar, alluding to drugs, alcohol! , sex, or violence and weapons. If there is a no tolerance policy for it, or is against the rules to display on your clothes, then you should not put it up for display on your locker.Aside from that, whatever you want to use is fine, as long as it does no damage to the locker and is not permanent. I have never done it, as after about the first two weeks of school, the newness wore off my locker and it was never visited except to dump all my books in after school and pick them up every morning before school (I always stole or borrowed an extra copy of all my books from all my classes so I did not have to carry books to and from school).I have seen them decorated with pictures of friends or admired famous people, mirrors, flowers or favorite scenery, and one girl who would do up small puzzles and then hang them on her locker. I have also seen small bags that contained a hair brush and perfume in a locker, as well as things like favorite art projects, and model airplanes or! cars hanging from the hooks....Show more

Anton Waln: Inside your locker it's not illegal. For the outside, you should ask a teacher or principal.

Hunter Beech: it is not illegal. You cannot put things that are permanent or inappropriate (drugs/alcohol/nudity).Yes, I decorated my locker throughout high school and in college.I decorated it by putting a magnetic mirror, a cute kleenex box, taped up photos of me and my friends and taped up photos of my favourite celebs. You should be fine but if you aren't sure just go ahead and do it and if someone asks you to take it down (teacher or principal) then just take it down, no big deal. Good luck decorating!Another idea would be a mini white board with a dry erase marker... you could get your friends to write little comments or notes :)...Show more

  1. Yes, obioulsy it is. It's a terrific opportunity to express yourself and wow your friends by decorating your locker. Make your locker your own by adding personal touches like photographs, cutouts, and carpeting. You may use as many decorations as you want! You can turn your locker into the talk of the school with a few resources and a little imagination. Your locker is the only piece of property you own at school. Adding a personal touch to your locker can make it feel more secure and comfortable. Choose a theme for decorations to help them stand out, then add images or magnets to create eye-catching patterns.
