Leisa Brodnex: Corporations do donate money. It typically pales to what they even spend on office supplies, however you are right about them not even having to do that. Emeline Albracht: I live in an area with a very strong union. Local ! 226 of the Culinary Union. A few years ago, two members of that union lost four children to smoke inhalation in a fire. The folks in the Las Vegas area reached into their wallets and purses to donate almost a quarter of a million dollars to the parents. The union sent flowers to the funeral.My father helped create a union. The Seafarers' International Union. Emeline Albracht: How ill informed can a person be, I was a union official, and I can tell you that the unions are the first to organize food drives, clothing drives, collect money for the victims, and do whatever they can possibly do to help out.
